That's what I don't like about elementary - new slightly different widgets just keep getting added, instead of making the existing widgets more general purpose. You can pretty much get away with a button that can be a container if it is general purpose enough. I have an ancient design for that, which I might get around to implementing some day. I called it Not A Widget Set. lol Though I'm seeing some effort in consolidating widgets and making them use the same API.
