Emacs, or rather microemacs, is one of the editors I'm looking at to be
a target for my editor construction kit.  Vi is also a target.  I don't
use either, but they are both way to popular to ignore.  Also looking at
pico/nano, wordstar (joe and others), and the one I actually use -
mcedit.  If I go ahead with my "add an EFL front end" idea, then we get
all of those for free.  That will be a distant future project though,
the terminal app front end and basic back end kit are a much higher
priority for me.

On the other hand, I might resurrect bits of my ancient EFL emu project
for this.  There's things in common.
