well 0 == "dont expand". > 0 == expand. unlike a boolean though, this is a
weighting of expansion. something with a weight of 2 will expand by 2x as many
pixels as something with a weighting of 1. generally most code chooses 0 or 1
as thats all that matters, but you CAN do fine tuning with different values and
fractions - it's just odd to see 0.1 used.
