I get your point, but you don't get mine. What you mention as "modern file manager" is a copy of windows 95. Not even windows uses this detailed list view by default since XP! :-) It's there because we (nerds) like, and Microsoft is always pro-legacy, however in this game they are not alone, every file manager (ugh, I hate them, ask Raster or Cedric ;-P) offers detailed view. > In fact EFM is one of the few file managers around that doesn't have a > display option like this. We don't display the details, but there is a list view with icon at the left and label on the right. Mouse over to show details. The order is there, but not one-click access, you need 2 (right click, then choose ordering). Given usability E17 is far better than the other options. > I understand why you might not have a use for this in mobile though - and > elementary seems like it is going to be a great mobile dev library. As I said, you can do it, just need way more work than with Gtk or Qt. We do not recommend, but you can do. Elementary is already too bloated in my opinion, and as I dislike this I'd never consider coding it myself. Seems raster and others agree. But if someone comes with a widget that have good code, I bet it would be accepted/merged. -- Gustavo Sverzut Barbieri http://profusion.mobi embedded systems -------------------------------------- MSN: barbi...@gmail.com Skype: gsbarbieri Mobile: +55 (19) 9225-2202 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Master Visual Studio, SharePoint, SQL, ASP.NET, C# 2012, HTML5, CSS, MVC, Windows 8 Apps, JavaScript and much more.
