Though does not help much in situations like the present. > the issue is a bug in either kernel (kvm) or qemu (i suspect kernel) > that we hit. the only reason everyone was affected for a day is *I* > did not reboot the machine because beber seemingly wanted to poke > around. Updating or remaking either should make some difference if it is either. Though again having another machine would spread out the problem or identify if its hardware specific or otherwise. But if one has a problem, its likely another would not at that exact time, and thus something would be available and working. > > For E, it likely needs international coverage. I was thinking more CDN for spreading out access to content. But if latency is not an issue then its moot. > all of which cost money. our hosting is free. and it's already there. > and it works just fine. our hosting has rarely been a problem. I think some cloud providers would sponsor for the advertising aspect. I wish companies like Google would do more Cloud Hosting sponsorship than say GSoC. Seem a few GSoC go no where after the summer ended. Cloud services are pretty cheap, much cheaper than other forms. Few thousand or so would go a long way. Pennies to most large companies. > the issue is the above. all the talk of something else is pointless. Understandable -- William L. Thomson Jr.
