It would be worth looking at cmake as well, given reasonable effort has
been put into moving efl to it. While its not essential that efl and e
use the same build system using the same means there's one less thing
for a bunch of people to maintain.

As long as it doesn't have silly dependencies that are hard to package
like go or javascript it doesn't matter too much to me. Python is in the
core of almost every distro now so using it as a build system shouldn't
cause issues.
