If it's true that the internal design really cannot support the
addition of this feature, it would at least be possible to implement a
compromise option, where dragging a window far enough off the screen
would make it jump all the way to the adjacent desktop, right? It's
not a substiture, but it's better than nothing. Any ideas on that?
While we're discussing the desktop, there's another feature I use to
want to have had in E16 - to be able to have different backgrounds for
each screen - so you could e.g. take a panoramic view and spread it
across your entire virtual desktop. Could E17 support a different
background per desktop if the user so desires?
