You don't need to reconfigure ~/.e Try to do the following:
1. Remove ~/.cache/efreet

2. Run
/usr/lib/efreet/efreet_desktop_cache_create -d /usr/share/applications 
~/.local/share/applications
/usr/lib/efreet/efreet_icon_cache_create -d /usr/share/icons ~/.icons -e 
.png .svg .jpg .xpm

3. Restart e17
