I've tried swapping the lxdm pam file with the elsa pam file. That makes the login dialog in elsa close and the logfile looks like authentication works, but the elsa screen never closes and e never starts. One thing I notice is that elsa is not showing session selections (I have e17 and blackbox). So, perhaps pam is not to blame entirely. Michael, could you post your elsa config please?
