this is a "can of worms" thing. this would wreak havoc with focus policies.
click-to-focus now is sometimes pointr focus if your mouse accidetnally strays
over an efm icon for long enough to pop up something. this could/would only be
viable if the efm window already had focus... for click-to-focus people to make
use of this u then have to click... which may as well just open the icon
anyway? for pointer focus people.. this may be handier as they can start
navigating... now problem here is the preview posp away from the mouse so any
mouse move causes it to go away...  this would need changing - and this means
it wll cover up the original icon too - not sure if thats good or bad... now
the preview moves away .. from the mouse... if you interact... which causes it
to pop down again... there's a lot of niggly things here that are going to turn
up. the simplicity of it being "read only" keeps it contained and managable...
this might be an idea to think about/explore further, but as it stands there
are too many other side-issues it'll create along the way. :)
