I recently had BIG problems attempting to upgrade C2's running 02.01.37. They just would NOT download any image (or even config file) from a tftp server. I'm sufficiently experienced to try all the obvious, like making sure the tftp server is in the same subnet as the switch, filename is 8.3 notation, trying different tftp servers etc. I could ping the device from the server and vice versa, but I was getting an error (on 3CDaemon) saying something like "Unexpected TFTP request", which leads me to think there was a malformed tftp packet from the switch. I eventually had to download firmware via XMODEM, a very painful experience even at max baud rate, given I had 9 switches to upgrade! Once running on this interim firmware, I had no problems using tftp to download the final version.
