Hi Bill!

Regarding your issue, first of all you must be sure that your first switch
will be the MGMT Switch by powering up this one first and wait it boots
completely, then second one and so on.

You can see what is the stacking number that switch obtain by doing the
'show switch' command.

Going straight forward to your problem you can use the 'set switch
movemanagement fromunit tounit' command to assign the MGMT Switch to another
switch, in your case moving fromunit 2 tounit 1, BUT like I said before you
must be sure that the first and physical switch is the stacking number 1.

In the case scenario that the expected and physical MGMT Switch become a
Stack Switch 2, and the second physical switch become the MGMT Switch 1 you
can use the following commands:

C5(su)->set switch 2 renumber 4

C5(su)->set switch 1 renumber 2

C5(su)->set switch 4 renumber 1

C5(su)->clear switch member 4

C5(su)->set switch movemanagement 2 1

Hope this work for you.

Subject: [enterasys] C2 stack order

I was under the impression that the following series of commands would
permit us to control the order of a C2 stack as well as determining which
switch will be assigned the Mgr role.

set switch 1 priority 15

set switch 2 priority 13

set switch 3 priority 11

I find in this stack that switch 2 has become manager for the stack.

Perhaps I misunderstood the powers for these "priority" commands - is there
any way for the user to override the Mgr negotiations in a stack?

Bill
