Hi,

Question 1: There is no way to avoid downtime if switch manager was moved!!

Question 2: if you do a "save config" all switches will get the same config. To
check that - "show switch status"
The problem was the automatic config save - a stand-alone switch save every 2
minutes the config / a stack only save every 30 minutes the config. I guess you
have move management before switch config has automatically saved. If you do
that manually (save config) you will be right!

Regards

Hi all,

1) Does someone know a way to move the management from one switch to another
without having downtimes?

It seems that "set switch movemanagement" command will result in a downtime
(1min or more) of all switches member of the stack(C5 or B5 stacks).

2) How to ensure that all Switches (C5) of the stack have the same config? I
noticed that stacking a switch with a configured host IP-Address (mgmt) was not
overwritten by the configuration of the "Master" switch. Once this second
switch was designated as "Master" (due to powercycle of the first switch) the
Host IP-Address was again in the config.

Regards,
Franco
