Greg helped me out and we enabled NetSNMP in NetSight and that seemed to
resolve the issue.

Thanks guys.

Subject: Re: [enterasys] G3 - snmpv3 issue

Hi,

if the device goes orange (or yellow), then snmpv3 communication is working but
credentials are wrong.

Sometimes the snmp hashes get corrupt after update, reason yet unknown (for me).

Just overwrite or set the "set snmp user...." line new and it should work
again. Best is with cleartext passwords, if the firmware allows that.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Markus

I tried upgrading a G3 to 06.42.10.0016 from 06.42.09.0005, and it caused an
issue between the G3 and NetSight. Snmpv3 was working fine on the prior
firmware, but then it stopped working properly on the latest release. I tested
v1 and that worked ok. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this.
