Do you think it could be the quality of the ssh daemon on the equipment? I've been using puTTY for years and only found it to misbehave on Enterasys equipment. I've seen it have issues on A2s and RBT4102s with session teardown.

Putty is awful on some of our C series switches - aborts the session frequently on commands which have a lot of output - but MobaXterm works well - although with some old versions of firmware, connecting with MobaXterm (OpenSSH) can cause a switch reset.
