It's possible that there isn't crash (if I read the initial problem
correctly), but false positive about tab crashing. I get that sometimes
if I had a lot of tabs open and setting to clear history, because, I
assume, it takes too long to clear that history, and firefox process
quits before that process finishes (like closing FF, then immediately
closing the computer).

If that is the case then obviously there isn't any crash report.

(really weird quoting in this message, I try to fix that)

Dear Mike,

i changed config on one device so that disablecrashreporter is now
false. But as I mentioned before even with default config no crash
reports were generated or does it need some time to do that?

I am now on vacation and will check about:crashes on monday and get
back to you.

Would it be possible to turn on the crash reporter temporarily so
the crashes will get reported?

Dear all,

nobody any ideas?

Also tried today with 52.1.2 ESR - same problem. Even with the
regular version on those machine we get the same crashes.

Hi Julien,

„.no crash report send yet“

In my cck2 config is set “disable crash reporter” so I removed cck2
config completely to avoid any possible error or misconfiguration
with it.

Now it’s a default Firefox 52.1.1 ESR installation and crash reporter
is now active as default.

Tab crashes after second run of firefox, at first run everything is
fine, so something in the profile which will be written after first
close must

occur this problem. After trying a lot of crashes and start over and
over again I will see under
“C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports” an
empty “events” folder.

Sorry I really like to but I can not provide any error/crash report.

Btw. sometimes 2 firefox windows opened (you see it on the taskbar)
and one is not accessible (and yes when firefox was closed only

one firefox was open) – that’s strange but the crash report is even
stranger and keeps me from deploying company wide until now.

Sascha

Hi Sascha,

can you check about:crashes on affected machines, and submit the
crash reports? Or does even about:crashes not work?

Thanks,

Julien

Dear all,

currently we are using Firefox 45.9.0 ESR with CCK2 configuration.
For testing purposes I deployed 52.1.1 ESR to a few computers

and 2 of them get every time they start the message that tab crashed.
I deleted everything firefox related in the user profile folder
(windows) and start FF then it will work until FF is closed an
started again. Same behavior on both machines. Created a new user

profile - same result, other user on these machines – same result,
safe mode – same result, installation without CCK2 config – same
result,

disabled addons – same result. Also tested version 52.1.0 ESR same
result on both machines – same result.

On my machine everything is fine, but I don’t see in the
installation.

Has anyone an idea whats wrong or where I can check any log?

Regards
