Hi there,

You might consider upgrading your system to 9.04 (or even 9.1, altough I
have not upgraded to 9.1 myself yet)
I used 8.6 on an older 7100 for a while and the upgrade to 9.04 was a big
relief.
It's even faster when virtual memory is on. That way you don't need the
extra RAM, altough it is preferrable, of course.
