Oops. Found out one thing I brought up wasn't Entourage's fault: On the mailto link "not doing the right thing", it turns out IE was set to point to the Office 2001 version of Entourage, not the new version. So what was happening was that when I clicked on the mailto, it fired up the old Entourage, which seemed to know enough to see the new one was running, and redirected the user to the new Entourage and the old one then quit. Personally, I'm amazed it was smart enough to do that much for me. It wasn't until I noticed things popping in and out of the dock that I caught what was going on. Fixing IE to point to the proper version of Entourage makes it work properly...
