Ouch Tim! This hurts. I'll take a quick stab to get you started. First, I don't trust Norton. I won't run it anymore or have it. Here are a few apps I'd trust and choose: Instead of Norton: Tech Tool Pro - A version of this comes on your Mac disks with your Mac. And there is an update to that per versiontracker.com. This is the fuller version. Their site is <http://www.micromat.com/>. TechTool Deluxe 2.5.6- for the version included with AppleCare Protection Plan. Update - 05/29/2001 TechTool Pro 3.0.5-hardware/software diagnostic tool Update - 10/10/2001 Also to recover files: Data Rescue - Shareware. you can try it free to recover one file, but see your other files. <http://www.wildbits.com/rescue/> And back to instead of Norton, Disk Warrior is also well respected. <http://www.alsoft.com> Oh... then: Dantz' Retrospect or Connectix CopyDoubler. (For backup) Good luck. ________________________________________________________________________ Deborah Shadovitz, Author, Instructor & Speaker <http://www.shadovitz.com> ~ <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> The Adobe GoLive 5 Bible ~ <http://www.GoLiveBible.com> Mac Efficiency 101 formerly of MacCentral, at <http://www.MacEfficiency.com> mac design magazine's GoLive column & more <http://www.MacDesignOnline.com/> Board member at large, San Gabriel Valley Mac Group <http://sgvmug.org/> -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To search the archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
