Paul I solved it. My imported HP4 categories were listed in the "telephone" part of the contact in the main window that contains multiple telephone categories. One is "Custom 4." However, this was not the separate "Custom 4" box underneath. When I did a search for "Phone" contains HP4, rather than "Custom 4" contains HP4, I got all of them.
------ Forwarded Message From: Richard Shane <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Finding imported info in Entourage X When I got Entourage 2001, I imported info from ACT, my previous contacts manager program. In ACT, I had sorted contacts into several categories. When imported, these categories appear in Entourage in the Custom 4 field. Any one contact may have several different categories, separated by semicolons (the old ACT way). I want to select all contacts that had a particular ACT category, so I can give them a proper Entourage category. I go to "Advanced Find," drag down to "Custom 4" -> "contains" -> and I type in the category, in this case, "HP". Even though there are other categories listed in the custom 4 field, one of them is HP, and I figured the "contains" criteria would sort it out. Entourage searches through the entire contacts list and comes up with nothing. Suggestions? Thanks. Richard P.S. Some of you (Paul, Allen, etc.) answer so many questions, I just curious - are you part of Apple, or are you just serving out of your passion to help? ------ End of Forwarded Message -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
