I'm guessing that having moved from Eudora, he will already be familiar with the spacebar technique. I do wish, however, that Entourage would emulate the Eudora method in full, and ALWAYS move the last line on the screen to the top of the screen, instead of moving it some indeterminate amount depending on how much text is left in the email.
