(Alan Watson had the same question)

Yeah sure. Sorry, I was a wee bit excitable in front of the keys, yesterday.

Outlook has customisable views for its messages and so forth. One such view
allows you to group by category. This will bundle up all your
mail/contacts/whatever a la message threads. It uses a butt ugly Windows
Explorer +/- style of widget to expand or collapse the view. Notes has the
same idea for Contacts By Category except they uses disclosure triangles
like us.

Now, the nice thing is that an item will appear under each category it has,
within the same window. For instance in one folder I have some messages with
the Mailing List category, others with the Personal category and some that
have both. The folder would display two groups, Mailing List and Personal.
Messages with both categories assigned are available under each group.

Spent too much time searching for a decent screenshot on the net. This
<http://www.uwec.edu/help/OLCalendar/categories.htm> is the best I can come
up with. Might grab one from work tomorrow, if anyone cares. It's a lovely
tool for most things, brilliant for managing contacts. The only thing I like
about Outlook, really.

Any of this make sense? Does to me, cos I know what I mean ;)
