Title: Entourage lock ups...various error messages

I seem to get all sorts of lockups in Entourage 2001 these days.  Often it locks up and crashes the mac before even getting all the way open.  A re-install is somewhat better, but looses the access to my addressbook, calendar, etc.  I can’t rebuild from inside entourage due to the lockups/crashes.  Is there some way to rebuild the entourage database, etc. without running entourage to do it?  Thanks.
