If you view the messages in their own window opening them from a custom view, then just click and hold the Move button in the message window's toolbar to see its folder's name topmost above the line, as about 17 responses in this thread have already said. Custom views aren't folders: if you don't know which custom view you originally opened the message from (if that's what you're getting at), it makes not a whit of difference. So what? Who cares?
