Thanks for the reply. It’s the version from the CD he bought a week ago. The Entourage about box says Version 10.1.0 (2006) with Service Release 1, if that helps any.

Does 'Latest Version of Office' mean that which came on the installation CD, or that which has been updated with all the latest updates on the mactopia web site?
