It is possible, but using a better method than the simple checkbox (better
because the method can also be applied to tasks & Calendar Events).

If you open the 'conduit Settings' in the hotsync manager
(~/Applications/Palm/Hotsync Manager), you can set entourage to either sync
ONLY a particular category, or to NOT SYNC any item with a particular
category.

Since items in Entourage can have multiple categories, I defined a 'NoSync'
category, and give that category to the addresses I do not want on my palm.
If the address already has a category assigned, you can keep that category
as a primary category (so the item retains the colouring of that category),
but assign ;NoSync' as a secondary category - it will still stop the item
from syncing.

Now, what about items created on the palm? - they will still be synced to
Entourage, where they will turn up without the Nosync category. If you had
gone the other way round and set the conduit to sync only items WITH a
category, then items created on the palm would be synced and would
automatically be assigned that category in Entourage.

Hope this is clear?
