OK, here's a list:

* Olympics restarted (probably not a problem)
* Mormon church established (probably not a problem here)
* America enters WWI (probably not a problem)
* Microsoft agrees to buy WebTV (probably not a problem)
* DST begins (!!! This seems most likely to be the problem !!!)
