This is a serious problem, but one that seems to be unique to you. I will
make enquiries 'elsewhere' and see if anyone has any suggestions. Can you
please check on the size of your database files and report to me? Look here:

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities/[Your identity name]/
(where '~' is your 'Home' directory, and [Your identity name] refers to
whatever you have called your main identity - this is named 'main Identity'
by default. Let me know what size the 'Database' file is.

Also, would you be willing to send that database file into microsoft for
them to take a look at it if necessary? They sometimes like to look at
damaged databases, especially those that can't be rebuilt.

In the mean time, there is two other things you could try:

First, under the Entourage menu, select 'Switch Identity...', then click on
the 'new' button to create a new entourage identity. This will give you a
set up with a completely new database, but still using the same preference
files and other shared resources. If the problem still occurs, try the next
step:

In System preferences, under accounts, set up a new user for the computer
(it only takes a few seconds). Log in under that username and password, then
start entourage - you should get a completely virgin setup. Send & receive a
few emails, then test to see if the problem can reproduce.

If the problem still occurs now, I'm flummoxed, and we'll have to wait for
MS to comment.
