My version definitely works for X, and does not try to keep track of where
everything lives...the path is written into the message, which is record
enough for me (although it does remove the HTML from a message; that's never
been a problem for me). So there is no need for a companion script such as
Paul suggests.

HOWEVER, I did forget! I do have a simple companion script that is required
for my " !MySaveAttachments" script, which can be called anything and placed
wherever you like. I put it into a subfolder of Entourage Script Menu Items
called "zPrefs" (the z makes it sort to the bottom), and I call it
"SavedFolderList". It contains the list of predefined folders you can set up
and modify with the main script. If you download the first script you need
to also download the second one:

Yes, that will be great! I'll be modifying my script then, also, to make
actual links to the files rather than inserting a text path.

BTW, companion scripts to the above:

!Open File of Selected Spec -- when you selected the filepath info in the
message and run this script, it will open the actual file in its parent
application.

!Open Folder of Selected Spec -- reveals the file in Finder, opening its
enclosing folder in a new Finder window.

Both can be found on my .mac scripts Entourage v X folder:

2.2.1.2.19.31.97.2.35.0.1.1.1?user=allen_a_watson&fpath=Scripts%3AEntourage%
20v%20X&templatefn=FileSharing3.html>

That folder contains all my scripts in one list. Some are not ready for
prime time, only a few are documented, use at your own risk. [I'm working on
spiffing it up, some time fairly soon.]
