Richard,

This message is not an Entourage issue. It's the SMTP daemon.

The fact that you were receiving messages from the same domain at the time
of the error is not that relevant (even if it seems temporarily baffling),
as the POP server and the SMTP server are different daemons. Outgoing mail
(SMTP) and incoming mail checking (POP) may each produce the message...based
on server response.

The error message says it all: "A connection failure has occurred."

When I get that error (maybe once a day, from one particular account) it
just hints that the SMTP server is a bit busy, taking a split-second nap, or
the server machine is crunching away and your connection is timed out.

Patience is a real virtue. I, too, have grown accustomed to the fast pace
of email and file transmission, and even a few minutes of 'down time' can
seem like a month when I'm in the thick of it and working. It has never
once mattered, in the end, if it took me 15 seconds to send email or 15
minutes.

Something occurring 4 times in 24 hours is not all that extraordinary.
Perhaps the server was being maintained that day, or it was a heavy mail
day, or the server was backing up your mail account, or...
