Really? I too delete all HTML email using that lovely Entourage rule (only
recently have spammers wised up to the fact that plain text mail is more
likely to get through).

How do you do that stripping of HTML from email that you -do- want to read?

It's one of the big reasons I won't move to other mail clients. I -really-
like Entourage's comprehensive rule set. Apple Mail is a nice client but
doesn't have nearly the same amount of rule criteria.

A friend of mine also worked out another clever spam filtering technique to
differentiate from 'real' HTML email and spam HTML email. The spam HTML
emails hardly ever have a plain-text component, whereas legitimate email
clients always have a plain text equivalent of the HTML for recipients who
can't read the HTML.

Unfortunately I don't -think- the above level of intelligence can be used in
a rule in Entourage (though I admit I haven't looked into it very deeply at
all - perhaps a custom header filter might work).

Cheers
Dan
