Yep, Remo is right, Americans make a mess of pronounciation. A couple of
years ago I was camping at San Antonio KOA and there met Dino Nata, called
"Nada" by Americans. Being from Italian origine he hated that. He had been
teaching math in Phoenix, AZ, and most of his students had Spanish
backgrounds. He told me he had always made it an important issue that his
students pronounced his name correctly as "Nata", 'cause Spanish-speaking
people know the difference between "Nata" and "Nada" very well.
