Paul, Remo, Beth, Thanks for the useful information. I tried the Export feature as you suggested, creating a Category and Exporting by Category. It worked reliably and it seemed quicker than dragging to a .mbox on the Desktop! But... It doesn't retain Read/Unread status, Message status, the actual Received time, etc. ie. it seems no different than dragging to a .mbox !! Looks like I may have to use .pst files after all :-( Tell me I've done something wrong!! Many Thanks, sgr
