Stephen, sorry for the confusion about the sent/received times. You may want to investigate John Carlsen's "eMessage Archiver" scripts, which archive to a FileMaker database. You don't need FileMaker; they come with a runtime engine. And his scripts preserve a maximum amount of information (I am not sure about categories, but I know there is a field for it), and include scripts to re-import individual messages with all the original information intact. Cost around $15.
<http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11969> If you have your own copy of FileMaker, you might want to try my similar script package, not yet ready for prime time but includes categories for sure, and you can get it at: http://homepage.mac.com/allen_a_watson/FileSharing3.html Browse down to my "beta" folder and download from there. (The scripts to transfer back to Entourage may NOT, however, include the categories yet...it's been a year or so since I messed around with these scripts.)
