I've been using the betas since they started, and they've all been stable. In fact, they just added in the code to require payment for upgrading, so I'll bet they are about to release it.
By all means, upgrade. V4 is lots faster than v3, and much better at working in the background without hogging the CPU. And I agee with the poster who says that indexing the Address Book shouldn't cause any noticible interruptions. Try running Activity Monitor to show CPU usage, and click on the CPU column so that the highest user sorts at the top. Then, when Entourage hangs, quickly switch and see who is hogging the CPU. My bet is still on an Entourage AppleScript if you use 'em. Do you? > The only part of this discussion that doesn't make a whole lotta sense is > that Entourage seems to be the only affected application. Hmmmm.... > No, that comes in v4, and it's a dynamite feature! You can access anyone's phone number, address or e-mail address just by invoking LaunchBar and typing part of their name, and it works faster than a contact lookup in Entourage! The new "grouping" feature also allows you to first type "contacts", select the contact "folder", right arrow, then the contact name to search only contacts. Utterly superb, and to me completely indispensible.
