Looks as if you have auto correct set to capitalize the first letter of sentences. In Entourage and Word if you have that box checked, the first letter of a new line following a colon will be capitalized even though you type it as lower case. To avoid this happening, you just have to uncheck the “capitalize first letter of sentences” box in auto-correct. It has nothing to do with fonts.
For instance, here I have auto correct set to capitalize the first letter of a sentence. I typed the “f” at the beginning of this line in lower case and Entourage capitalized it.
this time I removed the check mark from the box and the “t” stayed lower case.
