I will join this discussion as I also have this problem of errors on sending
an email with attachments, like some of the other people on here I also
often don't attach the attachment until I am ready to send as I aware that
if I do I would say 8 out 10 times the email will fail. I am using a POP
account, my emails leave my Mac and go off to a PC acting as my server, they
are nearly always a PDF/s or JPEGs, very rarely send any ZIP files out. I am
using Entourage 11.1.0 on 10.3.8, but I also had this problem on my old
version of Entourage X. my attachments normally go out with the 'Encode for
Windows' option.

My niece who works downstairs for us using an iMac and Entourage X and
10.3.7 also has had exactly the same problem!
