It's more likely that Scott has rules that run AppleScripts, which would
include SpamSieve. Running scripts can interfere with keyboard and mouse
access at the same time. (It shouldn't affect CPU usage much, though.)

Now that's interesting. Many of us have seen keyboard _shortcuts_ stop
working from time to time, if that's what you mean, without knowing what
causes that to happen. We can still type text, but shortcuts don't work.
Only re-launching fixes that. If that's what you mean too, your noticing
that opening attachments from within a message causing it might be _really_
useful. I'll be testing that, thanks. I don't think that the developers have
any idea, either, what causes the loss of keyboard control - the first step
is being able to replicate the problem with specific steps. If this is it,
you'll have done a great turn in reporting it here.
