Hi Tamer Yes I did all of that and there was no result it onl went to a date in November which I had not selected. I will try it again after turning off the applications recommended. I do have grace reservations about time machine though, I have a 500gb drive which is completely full and rattles away merrily twice a day but I'm just not sure. Thanks again
