Sorry...I should have checked my facts first. According to a couple of
articles on the web, the pileated is 16-19 inches long and the Ivory
Bill 18-20 inches long. The wingspan for the pileated is 26-30 inches
and the Ivory Billed 30-31 inches.....still big birds though and
difficult to tell apart according to what is written.
