I agree with this view. My organization--UN Foundation--is currently funding
efforts to conserve World Heritage biodiversity sites, including Galapagos
Islands. If all of you come up with some concrete ideas about what needs to
be done, I'd be happy to forward them to UNESCO World Heritage Center.

The sinking of Jessica off Galapagos is a major environmental disaster, till
now not much damage has been done. But does it carry a lesson, what is the
preparedness level at other international heritage sites? And what about the
safety measures?
It is an event that does need LEADs' attention.
