Hi List,
First, let me thank Alex, Dieter and Felix and the others for their
suggestions about Milan.
Now for a bit of my experiences:
A wide angle lens is definetely required. The streets are narrow and the old
architecture is really very photogenic.
This time of the year was damp and drizzly, so keep an umbrella around, or a
good camera case/bag for your EOS.
Keep a tripod. You might end up doing some architecture photography, so a
tripod will be useful. Also, at night, the important buildings are lit up
and are good subjects for longish exposures.
After my experience in Milan, I've ordered the EF-20-35mm 3.5-4.5 from
NY-Camera along with the EW-83 II lens hood and a Tiffen 77mm UV filter.
Also, in a shop in Milan, handled the EOS 30. Larger and heavier than my
500n, but fit well in my hands without the battery pack (my fingers are
about 3 inches long, and my palm is another 4.5) .
Cheers,
Shashvat
