Many thanks for your comments and suggestions, Craig. So far, I'm
just using the tripod (and a bogen 449 carbon monopod) with my M6 and
50 summicron--hardly a challenge, weight-wise. I'd heard the tip
about handing the camera bag from the center hook and will try that.
I'm about to enter the EOS world with the purchase of a 7e (want the
1v, but it can wait--rather spend the money on glass) and 135/2L
lens. I'll likely get the 180/3.5L macro next, though I have my
reservations about its skimpy number of aperture blades. The 85/1.2L
is also on my list, but here I may just settle for the 85/1.8.
