Achromatic close up lenses will render better
results in comparison to extension tubes.....

It is a dedicated converter for only the EF 2.5/50 mm
compact macro converter and has a factor of 1.4x.
The focal length changes to 70 mm and allows higher
working distance. Also you lose only half an f-stop
for reaching 1:1. Using extension you would lose 2 f-stops.

If you have the EF 2.5/50 mm compact macro this is my
explicit recommendation. For any other lens I would prefer
achromatic close up lenses over extension tubes.
