I missed the original post, but what is *wrong* (in your view) with your
current lens - if you're taking pictures for your own pleasure then it's
your view that's important.

Is your current lens:-

o Too soft (not enough definition)
o Too slow (too much depth of field)
o Too heavy
o Too insubstantial (do you fear it falling apart)
o Not short enough (not wide-angle enough)
o Not long enough (to telephoto enough)

or do you just want a new toy ?

If you answer these questions then that should help you choose the right
lens(es) for you.
