After about 2 years of distinguished service, I think my EF 28-135 IS needs
to go in for a reconditioning job. It's had some dust particles under the
front element for some time without causing any effect on the pictures, but
recently, they have been joined by a bigger one that if not an actual
problem, is at least disconcerting.
So, does anyone know the approximate cost of sending a lens to Canon Service
for just general cleaning? In my area, that would probably be their
facility in Irvine, California.

PS-Funny also that while I have 5 zooms, the 28-135 is the only one with any
dust problems...is this lens just susceptible to collecting dust I wonder?
