Hi Tom, That is certainly true for the 420EX, but the 550EX (and possibly others) have a Custom function to allow plain TTL function. And apparently any EX flash will behave in TTL mode with the use of the Canon TTL hotshoe adapter. Isn't it great to have so much choice?
