I've used the (old) ringlight, and it's very good. I've also toyed with the
idea of having 2 550ex for macro shots with the OSC2. This is just because I
think I could do lots more with 2 550EX otherwice and the ringlight is quite
expensive. And to add to that, as it's only TTL, it will not be compatible
with the future digital EOS that I will eventually get. Then I'd need E-TTL.
Sure there is the new E-TTL ringlight, but have you seen the price tag on
those... Anyways, if anybody has used 2 550EX's for macro, I'd like to see
some results. For instance, taking photos with EF 50 macro and having those
flashes right besides the lens, should not be that much worse than the
ringlight - the flash heads are quite large after all. I'm going to try
something like this during Christmas (I can borrow 2 x 420EX's and I have
550EX as master with it's flash head off). But still I'd like to see some
examples...

Ps. yep, 2 x 550EX + OSC2 on a bracket is quite different packet from neat
little ring light... :-(
