You might want to check the storage card tests at www.robgalbraith.com
(I think there may be a similar one at www.dpreview.com), which shows
that, with the D30 at least, the best flash cards are only about 1.5x as
fast as the microdrives.  This may have changed a little in his new
test, but I think that test was only for the D1x.  A lot depends on the
camera, rather than the max write speed of the card.

Also, something to consider is the size of the card...several 128MB
cards are not as good as a single 1GB for my use, because I have to
switch cards after about 30-40 shots.  With wildlife, this can make the
difference between getting a shot and not getting a shot.  Of course
this is less of a problem now that there are 512MB and 1GB card coming
to market, though they are still quite expensive.
