www.newegg.com seems to be about as cheap as you can find for 1GB cards,
and last I checked they were around $320 or so (in october, I think). 
Also, if you know an IBM employee, you can get their employee discount
(IBM says "for family and freinds") at IBM's online store with their
employee ID#.  The price is about the same as newegg.

IBM also reduced the suggested retail price about 2 months ago, so that
could very well send prices down over time.

That is a pretty snazzy offer.  One thing that discourages me about the
microdrives in general is that they only offer a 1 year warranty.  With
a solid state card, I get the impression that either it works when you
open the package or it doesn't and that performance will continue for a
very long time...with microdrives, I do worry about eventual mechanical failure.

So basically, performance is a wash between them, but damage, image loss
possibilities and wear all strike against the microdrive, but price
strikes against the competition.
